alpha

aren't you soundin a bit too happy?

LN

Why dont you use this period for "life with a new wife"

colours

LN, are you planning something for us end of this year?

Hardu

He is feeling very happy as it is only 2 days without wife. I am sure his opinion will change after a month or two. ;)

alpha

this was very cute.

LN: One doesn't commit the same mistake twice. Does one? ;)

People: This is only the initial version. As the year progresses, so will my lifestyle.

LN: As always, you wish to see others live out your fantasies. But this time I'm glad you spoke out your mind on this forum, two years after you first started coming here. (I knew it had to be a post like this).

It is indeed lucky to be married and yet have space for solitude. It is lucky and it is essential. Henry David Thoreau wrote this on January 10, 1851:

I have met with but one or two persons in the course of my life who understood the art of taking walks daily, —not [to] exercise the legs or body merely, nor barely to recruit the spirits, but positively to exercise both body and spirit, and to succeed to the highest and worthiest ends by the abandonment of all specific ends,—who had a genius, so to speak, for sauntering. And this word “saunter,” by the way, is happily derived “from idle people who roved about the country [in the Middle Ages] and asked charity under pretence of going a la Sainte-Terrer,” a Holy-Lander. They who never go to the Holy Land in their walks, as they pretend, are indeed mere idlers and vagabonds.

Teju Cole: Very true, what you say (and quote). I'll have a lot of space this year (while Wife is away); I hope I get myself to saunter around a bit and not feel guilty about it later. In a culture defined by accumulation (of knowledge, wealth etc), to do nothing for a while demands a capacity to shake off the guilt that accompanies inaction.

Hmmm. It's a typo, isn't it? You meant No Life, Without Wife.

Ash

Cute :)
